Featured Chemical Products
Over the years, leading suppliers of process chemicals for the leather industry have used ACLE as a platform from where to launch new product developed for the leather making process. The 2016 event will be no exception.
The Stahl subsidiary in China, PielColor will present its Magic 2800 – ML series base coat. Magic 2800 which is water based, saves cost and reduces the use of other chemicals and gives leather a natural feel.
The Dutch company Smit & zoon will feature its extensive finishing line including the new UNIVERSAL and UNIVERSAL LC pigments allowing for easier storage and fitting in with the values of Sustainability and Simplicity. For Wet-end applications there will be leathers fatliquored with the new Synthol LA 915, a concentrated lanoline based fatliquor that provides leathers with a warm and waxy handle and reduces water absorption.
German leather chemicals manufacturer Zschimmer & Schwarz will have new applications and products from its ranges of retanning and fatliquoring systems, as well as waterproofing, dyeing and degreasing agents on display. This range will be more extensive thanks to the full integration of products from Italian leather chemicals manufacturer Lamberti-Unichem, whose wet-end auxiliaries business was acquired in 2015.
Swiss chemicals giant TFL achieves high air quality in cars by significantly reducing the emission of leather interiors with CORIPOL® LE, SELLA® Tec AS and RODA® Tec AI. INVADERM® DB and TANNESCO® CPR liquors are new capping, pre- and re-tanning agents to enhance the colour of suded and nubuck.
Another well-known chemical supplier from Germany, BASF, will present state-of-the-art top coat finishing and specialty polymers for the automotive industry, as well as new finishing solutions and “next-generation polymeric waterproofing technology” for the premium leather segment. These products are Relugan Soft AP and Relugan AG. The company has said these chemicals can “significantly enhance” the tear-strength properties of leather.
